EN5ider Magazine #7: Apocalyptic Fantasy

Heroes have fallen. Valiant armies are defeated. The world as mortals have known it has ceased to be or will soon. But there may be reason to harbor hope beyond the death throes of civilization, for in the shadows of villainous triumphs souls brave enough to fight against the inevitable could yet snatch a worthy victory from the jaws of certain doom.

The End Has Come for 4–6 PCs of 8th level as they bear witness to the failure of champions and try to salvage something from abject defeat in the wake of an emerging god. The Raiment of the Devouring King summoned this terrible avatar, the potent artifacts gathered together by the cannibalistic occult-obsessed Society of Tasteful Friends. Survivors of all kinds are Crawling From Civilization's Wreckage, mostly monsters but a few clever folk devising remarkable enchanted trinkets with the anxious gift of Improvised Artifice. Adventurers not yet ready for such a daunting fate might fare better in Iron Hollows and the Runeblight Furnace, putting a stop to terrible destruction by facing it head-on before it's too late.
