Level Up: Trials & Treasures (A5E)

A fantastic resource fort the seasoned game master!

First off, I really like the physical book. It's very well made and the design layout is quite nice.

As to the contents of the book, it's a great DM's tool. The rules for random encounters and exploration challenges great and easy to understand and implement. My favorite part though is the section on magic items. I've always loved pouring through the magic items section in previous editions of the old school DMGs and this version doesn't disappoint. Lots of great old school favorites as well as new items that I look forward to implementing in my campaigns.

Great stuff! The way the pillars are explained and laid out, very useful tables, great PDF. I have been using this book when prepping sessions and it has added a lot to our games, and I've been running 2024 5E. If you want a stellar DM resource, or if you are a first time GM then I can't recommend trials and treasures enough. Also I suggest grabbing Monsterous Menagerie too!

This was exactly what I was looking for! All those random obstacles for the players to encounter was here, but the real stand out was explaining how to build an appropriate challenge. I have to say, the formula is working pretty well for me!
