Now use it in are d and d campaign really good book would recommend for and d and d dms
Great source for around the game table (only 659 pages; Yikes!). A lot of info that is hard to take in because of so many upgrades from 5e. A combat oriented player's handbook that is almost equal to 4e D&D. Do you like to have a lot of maneuvers instead of just rolling dice to hit or not to hit? This book is for you to expand and gravitate your character to Super Heroism and beyond! It also gives the feeling of old school gaming because of supply and resources accountability, group player gigs (such as movement, travelling, prestige building and group checks) and two categories of exhaustion after a fight or encounter when you hit 0 hp or pushing your abilities too far will cause problematic conditions (Fatigue is physical exhaustion and Strife effects mental exhaustion). There is so much more but I think you get the idea.
Like some others here I got refer to Level UP A5E by Sly Flourish (aka Mike Shea).
So far I'm really digging how it's put together.
Just different enough from O5E to be fresh, but familiar enough to feel like I can hit the ground running.
Character creation, and leveling has more oomph/heft (plus a lot more options, and modularity).
And I'm excited to dig into the expansive exploration piece!
I bought the physical copy as well, and I love how sturdily the book is put together, & the ribbon bookmarks are a great addition!
Overall great value for the price!
Mike Shea sent me and so glad he did! Love these books and my players will enjoy how they spice up our game.
I live in Australia so I was a little worried about the state the book might arrive in. I shouldnt have worrid because the book was very well packed to ensure that it arrived in excellent condition.
The core rule book is very well presented and has a wealth of options. All the choices could be intimidating but due to the layout and clarity of the writing it can be easily understood.
